Maths Skills for A Level Chemistry Course – Online

Course Information

Course Description

This one-day online course will cover all the mathematical knowledge and skills students need for their Chemistry A level exams. From relative mass and moles, to acid calculations and enthalpy, students will leave this course feeling able to answer even the most difficult questions.

Pupils often struggle with the maths side of A level Chemistry, particularly if their other chosen subjects are Arts or Humanities-based. Our tutor will teach students the methods they need to tackle maths questions with ease, and help them understand the underlying concepts behind each step. This deeper understanding will ensure they are less likely to make mistakes in the future.

The simple methods taught in this course will save time in exams and can be applied to questions of all difficulty levels. Overall, students will finish feeling confident and ready to excel in the year ahead.

Suitable for:

  • Year 12 students
  • Year 13 students
  • Students looking to cover the mathematical knowledge and skills required for their course
  • Students looking to review subject knowledge

Rob M.

Rob M.

Rob attended the University of Southampton and achieved a first class master’s in Chemistry. Since graduating, he’s been teaching for over six years and is the head of chemistry at a large secondary school in Hampshire. He’s been teaching the subject at A Level for his entire career, giving him a thorough knowledge of OCR exam board specifications.

Rob is passionate about his subject, in particular, organic chemistry and how it provides a toolkit to synthesise medicines and materials that shape our lives today and in the future. His teaching style focuses on the importance of precision of knowledge and helping his students develop context-based understanding and application skills using past paper questions. When he’s not teaching or tutoring GCSE, IGCSE and A Level Chemistry students, Robert enjoys taking to the stage in plays and musicals across the south coast.
