Chemistry A-level Mock Preparation Course
Our Chemistry mock preparation courses will get students off to a flying start with their January mock preparation. Tutors will revise key Year 13 content which is likely to have been covered in the Autumn term. Attention will then be focused on improving exam technique. By showing students how to think like an examiner, tutors will enable students to consistently hit all assessment objectives and score those top marks. Getting the ball rolling early with revision means students will have time to work on any weaknesses identified by the course during the Christmas holidays. Having this time to consolidate the skills and knowledge learnt means students will be ready to ace their exams when they return to school.
Learners are supported beyond the course through the provision of high-quality, comprehensive and original material including notes, guides and question booklets. These resources have been specially designed and created to supplement the learning experience.

Having graduated with a Biochemistry degree from Oxford University and a PGCE from Sussex University, Lorna spent over 38 years teaching GCSE and A level chemistry in state and independent schools mainly in Kent. She also worked as a tutor on intensive revision courses and for much of her career has supported individual students online and at home. Her last post was teaching for an online school where the students were ‘at home’ but based all over the world. She is really looking forward to tutoring on our revision courses.
Lorna loves learning and completed a Masters in Education in Leadership and Management through the Open University in 2006, as well as a Diploma in Environmental Science. Lorna now works part time as an online chemistry tutor, supporting students in their preparation for exams and generally helping them gain the skills they need to succeed at school and go onto their chosen course. In her spare time, she is learning Welsh having moved to Wales in 2015.
In her day job, she teaches at a private school in Buckinghamshire and tutors Chemistry in the evenings. In her free time, she enjoys walking her giant dog with her daughter, talking to her chickens and learning calligraphy.
Have a question about this course?
Alan was one of the best tutors I’ve had so far. Good at keeping us motivated and did well to cater the course to us. Seemed to really care about our learning and I feel like I really benefited
The tutor knew loads about the subject and explained things clearly and concisely
